The Valley Rescue Mission is dedicated to providing homeless men, women, children and families the opportunity to obtain food, shelter, basic life necessities, and the chance to rebuild a foundation for individual and family restoration.
The Rescue Mission’s Rescue SOS (Survival Outreach Services) helps individuals and families to meet basic, life-essential needs and serves as a link to social services in the community, including the organization's own emergency shelter, residential substance abuse recovery, and transitional housing programs. Throughout the week the Rescue SOS team truck travels to different places within the San Fernando Valley and is equipped with a mobile shower unit, hot nutritious food, clothing and hygiene items for distribution.
Because there is only one mobile shower unit to service the entire San Fernando Valley,in fact, they are the only one in the entire City of Los Angeles, the Rescue SOS team is limited to providing showers for only 20% of the 1,500 men, women and children they serve and accommodate each month. This is where our community can help!
Our project goal is to raise $17,000 dollars to provide the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission - Rescue SOS program with a second mobile shower unit so that they can reach out and care for more families every day.
