About the project
Now in our 12th year of existence, NYSoM Group continues to progress in the programs and offerings to different communities in the New York City area. As we begin to prepare for our 9th annual Back to School giveaways Saturday August 21st in the Ridgewood neighborhood in Queens, and Saturday August 28th in the East Harlem neighborhood in Manhattan. We hope that you are able to take part of this exciting event! NYSoM Group pride ourselves in providing a positive family atmosphere for families to gather, and supplies to help provide a jump start for their children in the upcoming school year.
It is our mission to support those currently in low-income households by providing goods and services to enhance their livelihoods. In order to meet our mission and provide services in the communities we support, we rely on support from people like you to help us meet our goal. We hope you will be able to make a contribution. Your generosity will make a difference in helping the families of Ridgewood and East Harlem neighborhoods prepare for the upcoming school year. The Steps
Once we have your generous donations in hand, our team will go to various office supply stores in the area to purchase the school supplies for the project. We will do this from August 1st to August 20th.
Why we‘re doing it
Our organization is focused on easing the burdens of everyday life of low-income families in the area. We normally do this by providing a fun, family based environment for the communities we serve. We're bringing that element to this project with volunteers dressing up as superheroes during the event, but our main purpose will be distributing school supplies. This project will provide a positive financial impact by providing school supplies for the upcoming school year. This year in particular will be important because we're currently in a mindset of heading toward our "new normal" post-pandemic. This project will play a role in our community's push toward that goal.
