the project

The Blues Festival has been an institution on Columbia Pike for 19 years. It takes place on June 14th, 2014 in one of the most culturally and economically diverse zip codes in the United States. Admission to the event is FREE and 8,000 people are expected to attend.

the steps

We've already secured all the musical acts, the sound equipment, and everything technically necessary. We're collaborating with local businesses, donors, and stakeholders. The money we raise through ioby will enable us to pay the bills and to engage as many folks as possible to take ownership of the Blues Festival, come to the Pike and see all there is to offer here.

why we're doing it

The Blues Festival is the signature event on Columbia Pike. It brings visitors to the Pike to spend money and think of the Pike for future events. It is entirely free, and we want to keep it that way! We are doing this to enhance civic pride in an area that is in need of revitalization, as well as to bring the community together. This is one of the most culturally diverse zip codes in the nation, and this event provides something free that everyone can enjoy.
