the project

The Cleveland Photo Fest announces its third annual event, to take place in the fall of 2022.

Rather than spotlight specific photographers or types of photography, we will showcase photography itself, inviting submissions from photographers all over the world to be part of One Million Photos: Unity Through Photography. The mission is to uplift and unify the human condition through global photographic collaboration and partnership.

Everyone in the world is welcome to submit digital images of any type to be used in the show; there is no fee to submit. The photos will be assembled into multi-image panels, which will be displayed in Cleveland mid-November through December 31.

Founded to engage a wider range of people with photography, the Cleveland Photo Fest debuted in the fall of 2019 with a series of shows in multiple Cleveland venues. Due to the pandemic, the second edition took place in spring 2021, this time with numerous shows at a single location over a period of two months. Once again in 2022 the Cleveland Photo Fest is reinventing itself with One Million Photos.

the steps

As of April 1st 2022, we have launched an international  'Call for Entries'.

We have  received almost 20,000 submissions to date.

We will print 20 x 24 inch sheets of images, each page consisting of 2,000 individual pictures. At the close of our submission period (September 1st, 2022), we will begin printing an estimated 500 24 x 24 inch prints of 2,000 images which will be hung in the Bostwick Design Art Initiative Gallery.

In addition. our local High School Coordinator and our local College Coordinator will each acquire over 1,000 images from students which will be hung as printed pictures in separate galleries.

why we're doing it

The combined efforts of our Photo Fest Team have culminated in an exhibition that will truly unite the photographic world. Photographers (and we are ALL photographers) worldwide are invited to participate by submitting their digital files or prints to this exhibition. All images received will be displayed in a unified exhibition of global vision.
