Times are tough, but New York City is tougher.
It's a challenging time all over the country, and it feels even harder and more painful right now in New York City. We're feeling that too. We've all still got a ways to go to overcome this crisis, but we know that New York will also be a beacon of hope to the world. Just as sure as we’re facing challenging times now, so too will we roll up our sleeves and heal, rebuild, and recover with that tenacity and grit you can only find in New York City.
Working together, even as we practice social distancing and follow the CDC's and the Health Department's guidelines, we know we'll get through this. Check out the projects below that are crowdfunding right now to respond to this crisis, or, start your own project.
Double your donations
Please note that you cannot participate in two match funds at the same time, but if you exhaust one fund and are eligible for another you may then participate in an additional match fund opportunity. Matches are first-come, first-served until funds are exhausted.

Project leaders should have strong relationships with the communities they plan to serve.
Eligible projects include providing essential emergency supplies like food, baby supplies, medication and more; Providing masks, gloves, and other protective gear to low-wage essential workers; providing tech and internet access to those that need them; offering affordable health services like prenatal care, trauma counseling, and mental health services; learn more about eligibility for this program here.
NYC COVID-19 Just Recovery Match Fund
It isn't a secret that when crisis hits, Black communities often bear the brunt of the impact, and the COVID-19 pandemic is no different. In many ways, COVID-19 is simply exposing the many racial inequities that have long existed in our nation. That means that our response to it has to be informed by racial equity, and we want to lend a hand. Healthy Neighborhoods Challenge
The Healthy Neighborhoods Challenge supports everyday neighbors (that's you!) as they take an active role in creating a culture of health in neighborhoods across New York State. Any project that helps to create a culture of health in your community can be eligible. These can include projects that address the impacts of COVID-19 in your community; improve street safety; add greenery; improve access to affordable healthy food; promote walking, biking, or exercise; educate your neighbors about healthy choices; and much more. When you crowdfund with ioby to raise the money you need to launch a project that boosts your community's health, we'll double your donations dollar-for-dollar up to $8,000.
