Hi neighbors,

This is a challenging moment for all of us. As we've adjusted to new challenges, we'll need to rely more and more on one another even as we practice social distancing. And, we know that across the country our communities are being impacted differently and—sometimes—unequally.  But while times are tough, our communities are tougher.

Our ioby community is full of helpers. Neighborhood leaders, unofficial mayors of the block, people like you who have always stepped up to do what’s right and to lend a hand. We know that many of you are now stepping up and deepening your commitment to your neighbors. We’re here to help.

As always, please remember to follow the CDC's guidelines and your local health authority's instructions as you support your community. Putting you and your neighbors’ health first is one of the most important things you can do to offer care, even if it means doing so from afar.

Even as we keep a physical distance from one another, you might find that there are things that your neighborhood still needs. From solutions to staying connected to immediate care so that no one falls through the cracks, if you have an idea to care for your neighborhood, we can help.

Wherever you are in the United States, when you crowdfund for a project that responds to COVID-19, you’ll get connected to an ioby Success Strategist who will offer personalized coaching to help develope your project idea, fundraise for it in your community, and bring it to life. Remember, to be eligible to crowdfund with ioby your project must take place in the United States, be local to where you live, work, or play, and have a clear public and community benefit that anyone can access. From sewing masks, to immigrant relief funds, to online get-togethers, we're here to lend a hand.

Resources

We've compiled a running list of resources from our neighbors and from around the web so that you and your neighbors can start thinking about ways that you can lend a hand and care for the people around you when times are tough. Use them to start your own project, or to plug into efforts already underway.

Give to a COVID-19 community project

Neighbors across the country have been responding to COVID-19 in their communities for many months now, and others are just getting started with new prrojects. If you're able to, consider giving to a project to help boost positivity during these uncertain times. You can also search for projects in your neighborhood or search for projects of a certain type. Your gift on ioby is always tax-deductible and is always deeply appreciated by your neighbors.

If you’d like, you may also choose to give to ioby to help ensure we can continue to support the helpers—neighbors like you rallying the community to care for our neighborhoods.
