Matthew has produced and hosted a children's television show called The Magic Woods, for which he raised over $600,000. For 12 years he was the host of an environmental news radio program heard regionally called The Allegheny Front. Matthew acted as the emcee for the Pittsburgh Irish Festival for 25 years. As the President of the Board of the Pittsburgh Folk Festival, he helped return the organization to fiscal solvency and erase a $100k debt, for which he was awarded Humanitarian of the Year by the Fraternal Societies of Pittsburgh. Matthew is an accomplished musician, having performed with a number of well-known artists, and freelances as an editorial cartoonist for a number of years.
