Joy is currently the Associate Director at Burten, Bell, Carr Development Inc., a non-profit neighborhood development organization. She acts as a liaison between program staff members, executive staff members and other collaborative partners. Joy also manages tax and accounting details on behalf the organization as well as the planning, coordinating and overseeing organizational events. She supports the agency’s grant writing and fund development efforts, assists in managing the agency’s banking relationships, and directs the administrative staff. She also provides Human Resources support for the organization and serves as a staff liaison on two BBC board committees.
Joy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Arts from Allegheny College in Pennsylvania and a Master of Public Administration Degree and Certificate of Non Profit Management from Cleveland State University. She participated in the Cleveland Bridge Builders class of 2015 through the Cleveland Leadership Center. She currently serves as Secretary of the Greater Cleveland Community Shares Board of Directors and is also a member of the NEO Faith Based Collaborative Board of Directors. She lives in the Buckeye-Shaker Square neighborhood of Cleveland.
