Miriam Parson, Pittsburgh Action Strategist

Miriam is ioby’s Pittsburgh Action Strategist, where she collaborates with neighbors to develop  strategies that help communities get good done. She works with Pittsburghers to cultivate the resources they need—donors, volunteers, partners, and local experts—to make positive civic change in the places they call home.

Miriam is excited by the deeply collaborative spirit of her hometown of Pittsburgh. She brings over ten years of experience in creating and growing asset-based community programs, grounded in the belief that local neighbors know what is best for their own future. She holds a Masters in Sustainability and Management degree from Chatham University, and a Bachelors in Political Science and Environmental Studies from Gettysburg College.

When she’s not meeting more neighbors to collaborate, Miriam enjoys hiking throughout Appalachia, biking Pittsburgh’s hills, and volunteering to plant street trees and build community gardens.
