Katie Lorah, Senior Director of Community & Marketing

Katie leads ioby's Community & Marketing team, which helps tell the story of how small, local actions add up to a nationwide movement of civic action and leadership. As the head of the team that oversees ioby's communications, marketing, partnership development, community events, storytelling, design, and public relations, Katie is passionate about how collective narratives can power social change and shape the neighborhoods we live in. Katie brings to ioby a professional background in urban planning and community-centered design, as well as nonprofit communications and organizational development. She has worked previously as a park designer for the City of New York, and as head of communications for Friends of the High Line. She holds a Master's in urban planning from MIT, where her work centered on technology for more equitable community design processes.

Originally from Seattle, WA, Katie enjoys the chaos, neighborly resourcefulness, and strong opinions of her adopted hometown, Brooklyn.​
