At ioby, we believe that residents know what’s best for their neighborhoods. We know that low-income residents, communities of color, and especially Black residents have for many years been intentionally excluded from decision-making in their communities. And we know that when Black entrepreneurs dream up positive change to serve the public good, they are often denied the funding and support to make them happen. As part of our commitment to anti-racism, we have to fight against that status quo.
We invite you to join us on our journey to racial justice. As part of that journey, we invite you to give to and learn from the many Black-led projects currently crowdfunding on ioby below, or start your own project fighting for racial justice. As you'll notice, the fight for racial justice is as broad as it is deep. It transcends any one category, and involves everything from food justice, to housing justice, to criminal justice, and—of course—the celebration and honoring of Black joy and Black life.
As always, your gift on ioby is always tax-deductible and will help directly power neighbor-led positive change across the country.

Start your own racial justice project
Neighbors like you know better than any outsider what your community needs in the fight for racial justice. Whether it's a community teach-in to invite white neighbors to wrestle with racism, a neighbor-led art project to build and honor historic solidarity between Asian-American and Black communities, or a project to celebrate and lift up Black joy and Black life, we're here to lend a hand. Share your project with us and you’ll get an ioby Success Strategist dedicated to you who can offer personalized coaching to help you work through developing your project idea, fundraising for it in your community, and bringing it to life.
Resources for racial justice projects
We've compiled a running list of resources from our neighbors and from around the web, to lend a thoughtful hand to you and your neighbors as you tackle racial justice in your own community. Use them to start your own project, or to plug into efforts already underway. As always, remember to follow guidance from the CDC and your local health authority before taking any action. Protecting your health and the health of your community is an important act of care, even if it means working together from afar.
