ioby announces new partnership with National Wildlife Federation

ioby and the National Wildlife Federation (NWF) are teaming up to support students, teachers, parents and principals to make New York City schools greener. The Eco-Schools program helps schools to reduce waste, conserve resources, increase environmental awareness, save money and enhance student achievement. Schools choose among a series of pathways to address important topics such as climate change, energy, consumption and waste and sustainable food. Each pathway includes a sample audit, action plan, tips and resources.

The Eco-Schools projects are incredibly inspiring–from starting a green roof to LED lighting to cafeteria recycling, the projects promise amazing benefits to the schools and their communities. Each project addresses the specific steps that a school can take to use resources more sustainably.

To help schools achieve these amazing projects, ioby is providing our unique digital platform to all Eco-Schools projects. This way, schools can raise the funds and recruit the volunteers that they need. ioby is also providing specialized tools and assistance based on our experience in using the web to bring projects to life. Working together, we hope to see schools across the city solving their environmental and educational challenges and cultivating the next generation of leaders!
